What is a website?

A computer connected to the internet that maintains a series of web pages on the World Wide Web

What do I need if I would like my own website?

You will initially need webspace to host the site and a domain name. We can advise you on webspace/domain name issues. We would need to establish page names required for navigation and agree the text and images that you would wish to use.

How long does it take to create a new website?

This depends on how quickly we receive the information from you and how quickly emails are answered. Your site will be created at a secret location within your webspace that only you will have access to during the design process. Your feedback will be needed during this process. Usually 1-2 weeks should be enough time for a normal website.

What is the difference between a .co.uk and .com domain name?

A .co.uk domain name is registered in the UK and you can hide your registrant details from the public. A .com domain name is registered overseas and the registrant details cannot be hidden, a business address or PO box may be used if privacy is an issue. Generally we would recommend a .co.uk address.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. A £50.00 non-refundable deposit is required on all new commissions.

How do we get a search engine listing?

All pages will have meta tags embedded in them (description and keywords that search engines pick out). Your site will also be registered with the major search engines including Google and MSN.
